The girl without Identity...
I was suppose to start a blog 2 hours ago...and then shit happened in here and I lost my moment...so I'll talk about something else...
In a week, I have to take this English proficiency something for my work...and I need to submit 2 valid ID's for the enrollment or processing or something.
The problem is I don't have VALID ID's!!!!..holy....
I think this is a common dilemma for young adults like me who just entered the working world. Speaking for myself, I never experienced being asked for valid ID's or any government document when I was a student ( I don't know about you...) so I never had this problem. I also remember when I started out, my company gave us a week to accomplish the legal documents that basically serves as our back up plan if things won't go as they should ( you know, pension and the likes...) that just actually get a piece of every workers pay every 15th. And as an eager fresh grad, I obediently did as they say not having any idea how tedious the process is or how long the line for the services will be or even how grumpy the employees will behave towards you. Well, I should have known the last bit but I was hoping that they'd have a change of attitude since they're not dealing with a teenager anymore but a soon to be taxpayer and someone who will have a part, however little, of the monthly salary and benefits they get. I should have known better.
Back to my lack of identity, I should start processing my ID cards very soon if I want to reach the deadline on time. Fully knowing how the works will be now, I have to have at least 3 spare days if I want to accomplish everything. In this world where we cannot be sure of the validity and security of our given names anymore, we have to make sure that we---rather, the government has to make sure that the benefits and hard work ( and the corporal punishments) should be given rightly to the correct person. I know how important ID's are but if we could have developed one system that will summarize the needs of identification cards (which is, let me think... everywhere!) a lot of time and effort (not to mention, swindled money) will be saved for better purposes. But then again, trust is hard to give and much harder to earn so the procedure always freezes at that point. It is so hard to make a change from something that is deeply rooted to our culture and our system. It's like re-planting a whole plantation of grape vines damaged by pests; we have to uproot everything and it will take an eternity to make progress.
Oh well...I know they say change starts from you but, hello, how can I start the change for what I'm ranting here??Just letting it out...
I'll get back to what I really wanted to write when I have longer free time...ppyong!
P.S. ---I'm trying to know the procedures for acquiring them...it will cost me a fortune and it will take forever!!!!!!!...waaaaaaahhhhh!
